Movie Review: ‘We Summon The Darkness’ Is Badass And Bloody

Heavy metal and murder fill the 80s set horror We Summon the Darkness, starring Alexandra Daddario (Alexis), Maddie Hasson (Val) and Amy Forsyth (Bev) as a trio of young women on a mission. They head out to a concert, where the girls meet three guys, Mark (Keean Johnson), Kovacs (Logan Miller), and Ivan (Austin Swift). After the show is over, the girls take the guys back to Alexis’ father’s (Johnny Knoxville) house to continue the party, but these guys have no idea what the girls have in store for them. From the getgo you can tell something is off. I mean why would three hot girls be interested in three losers? Once back at the house the girls begin a game of “never have I ever.” During the game, they reveal their real intentions, but of course, nothing goes as planned and chaos ensues. There are a few things that just didn’t quite make sense. Here’s an example, Bev’s choice

DVD Review: Prey

Toby (Logan Miller); trauma survivor and participant in the ‘Lost and Found Program’; a kind of therapy that places troubled youths on remote islands where they are encouraged to reflect on themselves and their troubles, soon finds he is being stalked by some sort of preternatural presence and it’s going to take a whole lotta doing to survive this retreat! Thankfully he is joined by Madeleine (Kristine Froseth); a young woman raised on the island by her explorer-type parents. This lethal lady has survival skills and is good with a bow and arrow… but, her mother is not what she seems, and Maddie may have a secret or two of her own. Along the way we learn tidbits of the horrendous history of the island as Toby struggles to keep the beast at bay. Good luck kiddo. So what does Prey have going for it? Well the narrative, while derivative of The Most Dangerous Game, is mostly well-paced, loaded with
