Meg Author Steve Alten Talks Sharks, New Series, Movies, And His New Interactive Site

Steve Alten, that’s a name most people are familiar with. He’s the best-selling author that brought us the Meg series which was adapted for the big-budget 2018 movie The Meg starring Jason Statham as well as the upcoming sequel. He also has an amazing new interactive website Sea Monster Cove that puts you in the water with ancient sea monsters, features a new exclusive web series, a video game, and a library of Alten’s novels, all for $9.95 a month. Writing Has Begun On Giant Shark Movie ‘The Meg 2’

Last summer Jason Statham went head to head with a Megladon in Meg (review). Not long after Meg opened in theaters it was announced that a sequel was in the works. During a recent press junket for the upcoming reboot of Pet Sematary Cinemablend asked producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura for details about where the sequel stands. Bonaventura stated that what’s important is that the sequel, simply titled The Meg 2, have a good script which is currently being written. We’re working on a script. Yeah. So you never know until you get a good script…I was very thankful that the audience got that we were just trying to have fun, [and] not take ourselves seriously at all. Back in October at the U.S.-China Entertainment Summit in L.A. executive producer Catherine Xujun Ying made the following statement: [A sequel is] definitely the plan. Movie Review: The Meg

Out of the big blockbuster films of 2018, one of the films I’ve most looked forward to seeing was The Meg. I’m a sucker for sharks and even have a few Megladon teeth in my collection. So, when The Meg arrived on Blu-ray this week I was psyched to finally get my hands on a copy. I had high hopes for the movie from the first time I learned that it was coming and I was not disappointed. The film opens with action star Jason Statham on a mission to rescue sailors from a sub. Unfortunately, he had to leave a few men behind t save the life of those already on the rescue vessel. Just as the rescue sub pulls away something big hits the wrecked sub and blows it up. The First Image From The Giant Shark Movie ‘Meg’ Surfaces

After being in development for nearly two decades, the giant shark movie ‘Meg’ is finally filming. The big screen adaption of the novel ‘Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror’ by Steve Alten is being directed by Jon Turteltaub. To celebrate the first day of production Warner Bros. Has released the film’s first official image. The photo features Jason Statham and Li Bing Bing. Let’s face it, only Statham could make a turtle neck look that badass. Jason Statham Will Go Head To Head With A Giant Shark In Meg

Action star Jason Statham has joined the cast of the giant shark film Meg. The film, based on Steve Alten’s New York Times best-selling novel, will be directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by James Vanderbilt (Independence Day: Resurgence). Which role Statham will play has not been announced, but it is probable that he will play the lead, Jonas Taylor. In the novel, Taylor finds himself “face-to-face with the largest, most ferocious predator in the history of the animal kingdom while diving during a mission. The sole survivor of the mission, Taylor is haunted by what he’s sure he saw but can’t prove exist -Carcharodon Megalodin.” Written off as a crackpot, suffering from P.T.S.D.,Taylor refuses to give up and sets out to prove that he isn’t crazy and that the shark, big enough to swallow a truck, is very real. Eli Roth’s Next Project ‘Meg’ Stars A Giant Shark

Eli Roth has become known for blood and gore and just as his last movie, ‘The Green Inferno’, opens in theaters (9/25), news comes about his next project, ‘Meg’. We reported back in June that Roth had signed on to direct the film about a prehistoric giant shark , a Megalodon. ‘Meg’ has been in development at Warner Brothers for a while now and is finally entered preproduction. The movie is said to be an adaption of Steve Alten’s book series ‘Meg: A Novel Of Deep Terror’. The novel series follows a deep sea diver named Jonas Taylor. Last week I reported that the long awaited movie adaption of ‘Meg’ had finally gone into preproduction. Today we are able to inform you that a director has been announced, and it’s none other than the brilliant Eli Roth. Roth is the force behind movies such as ‘The Green Inferno’, ‘The Stranger’, ‘Hostel’ and ‘Cabin Fever’. ‘Meg’ is the movie adaption by Dean Georgaris of the novel series by the same name, written by Steve Alten. ‘Meg’ Finally Heading To Production

The long awaited monster shark movie ‘Meg’ is finally moving forward. The script for the movie, based on Steve Alten’s book series ‘Meg: A Novel Of Deep Terror’, will be written by Dean Georgaris, who also wrote the script for ‘The Manchurian Candidate’. The novel series follows a deep sea diver named Jonas Taylor. Taylor believes that a prehistoric Megalodon is alive and lurking in the Mariana Trench.
