Milla Jovovich To Play The Villain In ‘Hellboy: Rise Of The Red Queen’

The cast of Neil Marshall’s Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is beginning to take shape. Last week, it was announced that ‘American Gods’ actor Ian McShane had signed for the film featuring David Harbour as Hellboy. Today, we have more casting news. It has now been revealed that Milla Jovovich has been cast as the villain of the film, the Red Queen. Jovovich has long played Alice, the hero of the long running Resident Evil franchise whose last sequel, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, opened in theaters this past January. It is an interesting coincidence that Jovovich came face to face with the A.I. that ran by the Umbrella Corporation’s tasks in Resident Evil, its name, the Red Queen. The two queens are not connected in the film world, they simply have the same name. In Rise of the Red Queen, Hellboy will face off against a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind. The film which is aiming

HELLBOY Receives Its Title And A R-Rating

While fans were excited last week to learn the Hellboy would be getting a new R-rated sequel. However, excitement quickly turned to shock when we reported that not only will Guillermo del Toro not be involved, but that Ron Perlman will not be reprising his role as Hellboy. Today, we have an update. The sequel, from director Neil Marshall (The Descent), now has an official working title Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. In the comic series created by Mike Mignola, who will be writing the script with Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden, there is a character known as the Queen of Blood, part of the ‘Wild Hunt’ story arc. There is also a possibility of a story that involves vampires who Hellboy clashed with in the comics. Stranger Things actor David Harbour will be playing Hellboy in the sequel. While there is no doubt that he is a talented actor, many might have trouble seeing him as the character.

Hellboy Is Getting A Reboot !

After years of hoping and dreaming fans had their hearts broken when Guillermo del Toro broke the news that there is zero chances of a third Hellboy film. While we know that we will never see Hellboy in a new story-line from del Toro, we haven’t seen the last of the big red guy. Mike Mignola, the creator of the Hellboy comic, took to social media to announce that Neil Marshall will be directing a reboot of Hellboy. He went on to reveal the Stranger Things actor David Harbour will be playing the lead character. Marshall has a great reputation in horror already. He’s behind Dog Soldiers and The Descent. He has also directed episodes of stellar series like Game of Thrones, Hannibal, and Westworld. I have to admit, I’m a little excited, but apprehensive at the same time. I don’t know how anyone could fill Ron Perlman’s shoes. I will always see him as Hellboy.
