Prequel ‘Orphan: First Kill’ Gets A January Release Date

If you are anything like me, you probably found 2009’s Orphan unnerving and downright disturbing. Now, the prequel, Orphan: First Kill finally has a release date and it will be here sooner than you think, this January in fact. Isabell Fuhrman returns as the infamous Esther/Leena Klemmer, who in 2009 portrayed herself as a young girl adopted by a family only to bring death suffering after it’s revealed that she was actually a psychotic grown woman. This time around, William Brent Bell (The Boy) is in the director’s chair for the film that will reveal Esther’s origin story. In the prequel, will see her escape from a psychiatric facility and travel to America while impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family and faces off against a mother (Julia Styles) who will protect her family at any cost. New cast members include Julia Stiles as Katie Mauerova, Rossif Sutherland as Richard Mauerova, Hiro Kanagawa as Donnan, Jade Michael as Madison,

Isabelle Fuhrman Gets Bloody In The First Images From ‘Orphan: First Kill’

Back in November, we reported that Isabelle Fuhrman is returning for the prequel to 2009’s Orphan as Esther. Today, we’ve got the first behind the scenes look at Orphan: First Kill via Fuhrman’s social media. Filming will soon wrap on Orphan: First Kill and according to reports, 23-year-old Fuhrman looks as if she hasn’t aged a day since Jaume Collet-Serra’s hit film debuted thanks to clever angles, world-class makeup, and effects. In 2009 Fuhrman brought to life the twisted and terrifying Esther to life. The character was actually a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer, posing as a child up for adoption. Once adopted by a young couple with two children, Esther manipulates everyone around her while attempting to seduce her new father and killing anyone who gets in her way. In First Kill, “Leena orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels back to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new

‘Orphan’ Prequel ‘Esther’ Set To Begin Filming

When you hear of a family adopting an orphaned child, you think of a happy ending. That’s not the case in the 2009 horror Orphan. After ten years, we are getting its prequel, titled Esther. Deadline is reporting that The Boy‘s William Brent Bell is directing the film about the adopted girl, played by Isabelle Fuhrman, that we met in Orphan. The girl is, in reality, a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer who has a rare hormonal disorder called Hypopituitarism that has stunted her growth. She’s spent much of her life pretending to be a kid and bouncing from home to home. When she’s adopted by Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard) in the creepy 2009 film, we discover that she is in fact a sociopathic killer. In the prequel, “Lena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from a Russian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Vera Farmiga

Hello there, my Little Monsters. We are midway through another week, and therefor it’s time to celebrate another wonderful Woman of Horror. With as many of them as there are in the genre, it can be difficult to decide on just who to highlight. But after watching one of this actress’ films last night I thought I would conjure up a Woman Crush Wednesday piece about her. See what I did there? CONJURE? OK…I know, that was cheesy. Anyway, it’s my pleasure to bring you this week’s lovely and talented lady, Miss Vera Farmiga. Vera was born in Clifton , New Jersey, to Michael and Luba Farmiga, and was raised in a rather sectarian Ukranian American community in Irvington, New Jersey. She comes from a large family and is the second oldest of seven children. The youngest of the seven is her sister, fellow actress, Taissa Farmiga. Her first language was Ukranian, and she didn’t even learn English until the

This story deals with one curious girl and a mysterious woman in an attic who has an all too enticing secret. In an interview, Vanderberg discusses the challenge of finding the right cast and how happy he is with each performance. He also mentions a full length script the he has ready for when the time comes. Starring Louise Ogel, Renee Farrabow, and Penny Kohut, with Tony Rosen
