Fans Are Not Happy With ‘Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City’

Johannes Roberts promised fans of the popular survival horror game series “Resident Evil” that the upcoming film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City would be closer to the source material than Paul W.S. Anderson’s film series that pretty much had nothing to do with the games (a trend with his works based on video games). Fans were excited to learn that the film will combine the first two Resident Evil games and were pretty much on board with the film…till yesterday (August 30, 2021) when the first three production stills were released showing the cast and instantly divided fans. The one picture that really irked fans were the image of Resident Evil 2’s main heroes, Leon and Clair and fans were quick to show disappointment in the casting of Avan Jogia as Leon with many saying his appearance made him look more like Carlos (Resident Evil 3) than Leon. Some fans were also quick to criticize the appearance of the

‘Dino Crisis’ Possibly Returning?

You may have already heard as I have about the news and hype about the 1999 survival horror game Dino Crisis possibly making a comeback. I did not report on this at first because it sounded too much like a rumor, but now that I have the facts I’m here to share! Back in February of 2018, I included Dino Crisis on a list of games that deserve an HD remake, for a while now CAPCOM has stated that there were no plans to either revamp or continue the franchise but alluded to in a 2017 tweet that they were open to the idea if many people want it. With the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake and the excitement for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake, this may have greased the wheels as it has been confirmed that CAPCOM has filed the trademark for Dino Crisis in Japan on November 29th, 2019. Before we get too excited this

Opinion: Remaking ‘Resident Evil 4’ Would Be A Bad Idea

CAPCOM’s biggest release of 2018, Resident Evil 2, was a hit with critics and fans, myself included. The game is a remake of the original but not in a traditional “remake” sense. With the exception of the Orphanage level and a few extra scenes (or scene rewrites), the overall plot was the same along with the stories of the game’s two main heroes Claire and Leon. The major changes to RE2 obviously were the graphics and art making it more detailed to a real-world scenario, and the adoption of the third-person over-the-shoulder view for players, the first time this was seen in the “Resident Evil” game series was the 4th installment of the game, Resident Evil 4. There’s been some rumbling around the internet from fans wanting to see the RE2 remake magic happen again but with Resident Evil 4. The 2005 game took players out of Raccoon City and to a fictional location in Spain (where the locals spoke

‘The Ghost Survivors’ DLC Coming To ‘Resident Evil 2’ UPDATE

In the upcoming mode The Ghost Survivors, players will turn back the clocks during the zombie outbreak in Raccoon City and see the nightmare from three new angels. In this “what if” scenario, you take on the roles of three individuals who have not survived the outbreak. In the segment titled, “No time to mourn”, follows gun shop owner Robert Kendo whose appearance in the Resident Evil 2 remake is more tragic than in the original where he was just a cannon fodder character. A Remake Done Right: Video Game Review Of ‘Resident Evil 2’

I remember playing Resident Evil 2 on the N64 a lot; in fact, it was the first “Resident Evil” game I’ve ever played that got me hooked onto the series. Fast forward to now, you could only imagine the honor I felt when CAPCOM gave me the opportunity to play the remake of this classic and what I can say is this: If you liked the original, then you’ll love this! Don’t worry this is spoiler free! First thing I noticed right away playing this game, its dark, not figuratively, literally and that makes it amazing as it adds to the tension. Speaking of tension, usually, a soundtrack helps break it but the lack of one playing as you explore your surroundings makes it terrifying! I suggest playing this game with headphones as all the stops were pulled to creep you out with 3D surround sound, every creak of wood, the structural groan from wind, and distant sounds of flesh-crazed

Two Legendary Characters Returning To ‘Resident Evil 2’

Today fans got the chance to play the demo of the upcoming Resident Evil 2 where they only have one shot to escape the Raccoon City Police Department building in 30 minutes. I tried and failed (but did not die!). Even if you completed the challenge in the 1 Shot Demo, your reward is the latest trailer for the upcoming game. Those familiar with the original story will see that there are some minor changes but it seems the overall story is the same. To my surprise and joy, the trailer also teased at the return of two legendary characters that appear at the end of the original Resident Evil 2, HUNK and Tofu! In the original game, after completing the main story, an extra game mode would start called 4th Survivor where HUNK is the sole survivor of a special operations team sent to recover samples of the G-virus. This is the only time the character is seen as

‘Resident Evil 2’ Remake Looks Good, Scary Good

It’s been rumored ever since Capcom did a remake of “Resident Evil” that they would remake their equally popular sequel. Well at E3 it was confirmed, the remake is coming January of 2019! The reveal trailer showed a mix of cinematic and gameplay images confirming one thing to veteran fans of the original… this is a terrifying new game! Like the more recent “Resident Evil” games (with the exception of “RE7”), the game will be an over the shoulder third-person game. The main focus of course is it’s obvious the game was strapped into a chair and pumped full of nightmare fuel. The setting looks darker, grittier, and bloodier the way a zombie video game should be. If the remake of “Resident Evil 2” looks terrifying, imagine when they remake “Resident Evil 3: Nemesis”!
