Game Review: ‘The Ascent’

A big thank you to Neon Giant and Curve Digital for the opportunity to review this cyberpunk RPG! If you’re still being burned by a certain cyberpunk game earlier this year or can’t get enough of the cyberpunk aesthetics, then The Ascent is for you! The Ascent takes players to another planet where a corporate-operated city stretches high in the air and is home to millions of workers (more like slaves) to The Ascent Group arcology from all over the galaxy. One day, the company’s systems shut down putting the livelihood of all who live in the city in jeopardy as rival corporate groups and black marketers try to take advantage. I’m letting slide some tech issues as it’s been announced that patches are on the way in August and September but let’s get on to the game itself! This is a third-person shooter where the camera is set at a higher angle so aiming during combat can be slightly

Game Review: ‘Vampire’s Fall: Origins’

I don’t know about you but where I live there’s a chill in the air with a hint of autumn in it, and Early Morning Studio was awesome enough to offer me a chance to make the season feel more like Halloween with their gothic RPG Vampire’s Fall: Origins. In Vampire’s Fall: Origins play as a customized character that you can name, who becomes a vampire after failing to fight the dreaded Witchmaster who has raised an army and terrorizing the land. Now on a quest of vengeance, your character must get stronger as they travel the land with the goal to bring down the Witchmaster and avenging the carnage done to your village. Now onto the game itself! Controls are pretty simple with no need to memorize them as they are always labeled on the screen when you’re exploring and engaging in combat. When it comes to graphics, it’s reminiscent of a flash game but it renders well on

Game Review: ‘Pillars Of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition’

When it comes to traditional RPG games, I’m a noob…still. Does not mean I’m not afraid to throw myself into one and see where it leads to, thanks to Obsidian Entertainment and Versus Evil I was able to try out the upcoming console release of their award-winning game Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, or in this case it’s known as Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition picks up where the first game left off; thankfully at the start of this game you are given a breakdown of the previous plot. In this story, you the player are what’s called a “Watcher” someone with the ability to see spirits and help them pass on to what’s known as “The Wheel” (an afterlife) in which you were allowed to leave after being given a mission that will determine if you will be granted a second lease on life, or go to oblivion. You must
