I hate getting my hopes up when it comes to movies, I’m often let down. Luckily, that isn’t the case with Slaughterhouse Rulez. I’ve been excited about director Crispin Mills’ horror comedy since the moment I first saw the trailer. Finally, I watched it and I’m happy to report that it’s the best horror comedy I’ve seen in years. The twisted humor in this movie will keep you laughing until you’re splitting at the seems. And the action will keep you on the edge of your seat. When it comes to gore, by god this movie is oozing with it. Star Simon Pegg delivers a fine performance as an awkward heartbroken teacher, reminiscent of his character in the classic Shaun of the Dead. Speaking of Shaun of the Dead, Pegg’s co-star Nick Frost joins him and plays the part of a former student turned activist protesting the nearby fracking site. As always, his rough around the edges charm doesn’t disappoint.

It’s been almost a year since we reported that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, had teamed up to create a new production company, Stolen Picture. Their first film under their new banner is the horror-comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the movie until now, during a recent interview with Digital Trends, Pegg revealed that a subterranean monster is at the center of the story, directed by Crispian Mills. It’s going to be really fun. It’s a sort of a horror comedy,” Pegg told the site. “It felt like the right thing for Nick and I to have as our first collaboration with Stolen Picture. It’s about a private school in the U.K. which sells off parts of its land to a fracking company, and the fracking company then unleashes a subterranean monster that terrorizes the school. It’s a big metaphor for the U.K. privatizing things, and it’s mixed up with some ridiculous, sloppy horror.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are an ideal acting team. If you’ve seen Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End, or Paul you know what we say is true. Now, we are about to get a double dose of the duo with a show and a new film and we have a few of the details. First up is ‘Truth Seekers’, a new upcoming horror-comedy series about a three-person paranormal investigation group. According to Variety, each episode will center on a paranormal incident. Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg says. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London, and somehow it managed to get this

The good news is that they are, sort of. Pegg and Frost have now teamed up to create a brand new film and television company called Stolen Picture, Deadline reports.
