Back in May we reported that as part of Syfy’s 25th anniversary programming upgrade that they were developing a series adaption of George R. R. Martin’s supernatural novella ‘Nightflyers’. While at the time it was not guaranteed that the series would ever grace our televisions, that has changed. Today, news has come, via Deadline, that Syfy has given the green light for the pilot, penned by Jeff Buhler (Jacob’s Ladder). ‘Nightflyers’, from Universal Cable Productions and Hypnotic, is currently setting up a writers room in order to prepare backup scripts in anticipation of the series being picked up. Published in 1980, the story, which was adapted for the 1987 film by the same name, is set in the future on the eve of earth’s destruction. “In the hope of making contact with alien life, eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard the Nightflyer, a ship with a small,

Syfy’s ‘Blood Drive’ Is An Insane, Gore-Filled, Fun Ride – A Review

Syfy has really stepped up their original content over the past couple of years. Their upcoming series Blood Drive is great example of that. In fact it is one of my favorite new shows. In the series, a young cop named Arthur Bailey (Alan Ritchson) may be the last remaining decent cop left after the U.S. has gone to hell thanks to the “Scar”, a huge, deep crack in the country, and a severe drought that has left food scarce, and water hard to get. In fact, people are secretly selling their blood for water. Crazy, right? You might be wondering why anyone would need so much blood, with gas prices insanely high a group of underground racers have modified their rides to run off of blood, human blood. When Officer Bailey and his partner Chris (Thomas Dominique) get a tip from a snitch (Nathan Lynn), who trades info for water, they stumble across a warehouse filled with freaks and
