We reported back earlier this year that M. Night Shyamalan was returning Tales from the Crypt to our TVs. Imagine if you will, the Crypt Keeper (a redesigned version) introducing the night’s show and it happens to have been created by you. That would be awesome, right? Variety reported today that Turner’s TNT and TBS will be teaming up with the online community Wattpad and giving users to have their stories adapted for a show, digital or mobile platforms. The first show up is Tales from the Crypt and they are inviting Wattpad users to submit their stories and ideas through the Turner profile on the service. Our partnership with Wattpad is a perfect intersection of content and fan engagement, where fans actually have the chance to directly influence and, in some cases even have their material optioned and developed by our networks,” Justin Williams, senior VP of digital ventures for TNT and TBS, said. TNT has given the go-ahead for the new revamped Tales From the Crypt from M. Night Shyamalan. The new 10-episode series will have a reinvented Crypt Keeper host, based on the EC Comics, Deadline reports. Tales From the Crypt will be the center of a new horror block that includes an anthology series, titled Time of Death. The block will be rounded out with another new series, Creatures. “I’m really thrilled about the way this horror block is coming together with the additions of “Time of Death” and “Creatures”, Shyamalan stated. That such a beloved property like “Tales From the Crypt” is launching our evening makes it an even more unique and exciting opportunity. Across the board the level of talent has been inspiring.” Time of Death is an anthology of season long horror tales that unfold in real time – each one taking viewers hour-by-hour through a single “long night of hell.” The first season will follow a murderous

We reported back in January the M. Night Shyamalan will be making a new Tales From The Crypt series for TNT. Days later we had news that the Crypt Keeper that we all know and love would not be returning, instead a new character will be taking his place. Since January, there hasn’t been much said about the series, until this past weekend at WonderCon. While Shyamalan was promoting season 2 of his show Wayward Pines, he took a moment to talk about Tales From The Crypt and that we would be seeing a new Crypt Keeper with /Film. “You know, I can’t say 100% but I’m thinking right now, where I am, if you’d ask me this six months ago I would have had a different answer, but where I am right not it’s more individual Black Mirror kind of stuff right now.” If you’re wondering why the new series won’t feature the classic Crypt Keeper, it’s simple, the

We reported just a few days ago that TNT and M. Night Shyamalan will be bringing back Tales From The Crypt. Soon after news broke that was not the Crypt Keeper would not be featured. Fans were quick to voice their disappointment. In the place of the Crypt Keeper would be an old man in a robe sitting fire side. A few hours ago Shyamalan tweeted a response to @slashfilm about the Crypt Keeper situation (see below). At the moment it is unclear exactly what the original Crypt Keeper and the new Crypt Keeper will have in common. I mean, let’s be honest, it’s not really the Crypt Keeper unless it’s actually the Crypt Keeper. I truly hope that TNT and Shyamalan also plan on bringing back John Kassir, the original voice of the Crypt Keeper. Any thing else would just be an insult. It’s time for them to step up and buy the rights from HBO or at least

Yesterday when news broke that TNT and M. Night Shyamalan were reviving the beloved anthology series Tales from the Crypt we were all excited. Unfortunately, today that excitement turned to disappointment. We learned via Bloody-Disgusting that the new series and the original will only have a name in common. The Crypt Keeper will not be appearing, which is strange considering that he is a huge part of the series. Instead, they are opting for a different host (because HBO still owns the rights to the Crypt Keeper). The new host will be an old man in a hooded robe, sitting by a fire. The lack of our favorite creepy host is not the only difference between the shows. The series will consist of thirteen episodes with a similar feel as American Horror Story. It will be set in New Orleans and will feature Voodoo. The first season will not feature any of the stories from the original comics. The writers
