Back in 1974, Sally Hardesty earned her place as a final girl after going head-to-head with Leatherface in Tobe Hooper’s classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. After a combo of eight sequels, prequels, and reboots, the character is back in David Blue Garcia‘s Texas Chainsaw Massacre which is set to slash its way onto Netflix next month. The first look at the recast Sally, played by Olwen Fouréré, was shared by USA Today. Fouréré took over the role of Sally in the wake of the original actress, Marilyn Burns’ death. The new movie serves as a direct sequel to the original, set nearly fifty years after the first massacre, and centers on “Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson), who head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start a new business venture. Gun Interactive is working alongside Sumo Nottingham to bring this 1974 classic to life for PC and next-gen consoles and promise that the game will be authentic to the film it’s based on. It’s no secret that the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is probably my favorite horror film ever created. Having the chance to really dive into the world of this IP with the team from Gun and working with Sumo to bring this vision to life has been almost surreal. I can’t wait for everyone to see more of what we’re doing.” says Creative Director Ronnie Hobbs.

You know, how do you catch a guy who has a mask? Once he removes the mask and runs away, it’s very easy for him to hide somewhere. This story will pick it up many, many years after the original story. He’s been in hiding for a long, long time, trying to be a good person. “These people arriving in this town are going to awaken the giant.” David Blue Garcia (Tejano) directed the movie for Legendary from the script penned by Chris Thomas Devlin.
