True Crime Documentary Beware The Slenderman Gets Premiere Date And Trailer

We reported back in January that HBO, capitalizing on the current obsession with true crime documentaries like Netflix’s Making a Murderer, would soon release a dark documentary of there own titled Beware the Slenderman, from director Irene Taylor. Today, the television premiere date has finally been revealed as January 23, 2017 on HBO. Beware the Slenderman, set to have a special screening at DOC NYC this weekend, delves into the legend of Slenderman and the case of Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, two 12- year-old Wisconsin girls, and their brutal attempted murder of their friend and classmate, Payton Leutner, another 12-year-old girl. The documentary first premiered at this year’s SXSW. What makes the case so interesting are the girls’ claims that it was an attempt to please Slenderman, a legend created by Eric Knudsen on the Something Awful internet forum. HBO Series ‘Raven’ In The Works Based On Jim Jones & The Jones Town Massacre

Warning Graphic Images! HBO is working on several new series, which is a good thing since their most popular series, ‘Game of Thrones’, will be ending soon. One of the new series in the works is ‘Raven’, based on the real life story of Jim Jones and the People’s Temple’s mass suicide on November 18, 1978 in which 918 adults and children died by committing suicide or were murdered at the command of Jones at their Guyana compound. The event, referred to as “The Jones Town Massacre”, is the largest mass suicide in history. Those who did not die from drinking the poisoned Kool-Aid were shot. ‘Breaking Bad’s Vince Gilligan is set to direct and executive produce ‘Raven’. At the moment it is unclear if the series will ave a single season run or be stretched out over multiple seasons. It will focus not only Jones, but other key characters as well.
