Movie Review: Cruel Summer is a Vacation I Never Hope to Take Again.

This is probably going to be one of the shorter reviews I have ever written…mainly because I think if I spend any more time time thinking about Cruel Summer I may get sick. Cruel Summer tells the charming (and supposedly true) tale of a young autistic man named Danny (Richard Pawulski) from the inner-city that gets a chance to go to the country thanks to a Governmental program. While there he encounters a real psycho of a human being who plans Danny’s demise after his equally atrocious girlfriend concocts a lie about the youth. You can guess the rest. Let’s see if I can put a positive on some of this…I guess if you want to see a film that fully displays the cruelty and unfairness that life can throw at someone then Cruel Summer is the picture for you. There is no epic revenge, no hope, barely any retribution…it’s just one unfortunate soul encountering a force that is out

Nine Books Written By Serial Killers

If you are intrigued by serial killers, you’re not alone. Many have a morbid curiosity about those who kill. No matter if it’s Ted Bundy or unsolved murders linked by a killer’s M.O., there is something fascinating about those who ignore the rules of society and give in to their darkest desires. You might not realize it, but there are a lot of books out there written by serial killers, and we just happen to have a list of nine of them. A Question of Doubt John Wayne Gacy took the lives of 33 men and boys. He also appeared at many children’s birthday parties dressed as his alter ego, “Pogo the Clown”, which earned him the nickname “The Killer Clown”. Convicted in 1980, Gacy penned A Question of Doubt in which put the blame for his killing and for having to bury his victim in his crawl space under his home. His book, which had a limited release (500

Movie Review: In A Madman’s World Takes Us to Places No Sane Person Would Want to Go!

Elmer Wayne Henley is a down on his luck young dude from Texas. His family is broken (ol’ Elmer lives with his Mom for the record…probably because his Dad is the type of guy that doesn’t think twice about pulling a pistol and unloading a few rounds at his son’s back as he runs away), he’s surrounded by poverty, and his future doesn’t look all that bright and shiny. Enter small time hoodlum Dean Croll into Henley’s life…a charismatic fellow who gets our “hero” involved in all manner of thievery. Of course the illicit activity takes a turn for the darker side when Croll decides that white slavery…in particular the trade of young male teens, would be more lucrative…and Henley goes right along with the insanity. Croll then proceeds to take things even further by raping and murdering scores of young men which Henley helps lure into his clutches (due in no small part to Dean playing into his paranoia)…though

Evelyn Dick: The Torso Murders

I recently moved from Canada and so, to celebrate that life change, I thought that I would do a quick article about one of the most notorious crimes and trials in Canadian history. You cut off his legs… You cut off his arms… You cut off his head… How could you Mrs Dick? How could you Mrs Dick? This once-popular nursery rhyme discusses the murderess Evelyn Dick (born October 13, 1920) in Beamsville Ontario. She was found guilty for the press-titled Torso Murders. In 1946, a group of children playing found a human torso…just the torso. It was finally determined that he torso belonged to Evelyn’s (late) husband, Donald. It was discovered that his arms, legs, and head had been disposed of in the furnace of his own home. His wife, Evelyn, who was well known for her beauty, was quickly arrested, found guilty of the murder, and sentenced to hang. However, she was acquitted and remained free until the

Rob Zombie Narrates Charles Manson Documentary

The death of Charles Manson went without nearly as much fanfare or celebration as he had expected. This monster did absolutely heinous acts that amount to far more than orchestrating the murders he is famous for. He was a true life villain. And on December 3 on REELZ a Rob Zombie narrated documentary will be airing which focuses on Manson. This film is special because it will include Manson’s final words to media and family, Rob Zombie is the perfect pick for narration as his interest in Manson is very publically nearing obsession. “Narrated by musician and director Rob Zombie, the documentary focuses on the Manson family murders told from Manson’s perspective using never-before-seen case files, pictures and exclusive interviews with Manson himself from inside California State Prison. A Serial Killer Speaks Through Best Selling Audiobooks

Everyone has listened to at least one audiobook in their life. But what you may have been unaware of while listening to the story in your car or at the gym, is that there is a chance that you may have been hearing the voice of a serial killer. Run by serial killer Edmund Kemper III, there was a program at the California Medical Facility State Prison called Volunteers of Vacaville aka the “Blind Project”. The inmates in the program recorded thousands of books, novels, textbooks, and even cookbooks on tape. Some of those recordings have been transferred to digital copies. From 1977 to 1987 alone, Kemper spent over 5,000 hours recording more than four million feet of tape. The project is still alive and well today and continues to operate at the prison. I can’t begin to tell you what this has meant to me, to be able to do something constructive for someone else, to be appreciated by

Canadian Nurse Of Death Is Finally Sentenced

“I am truly sorry for the people I injured and murdered. Sorry is much too small a word.” These words by former nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer were spoken after she was sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole for 25 years. I know, I know, Canada is known for hockey and apologizing, but unfortunately we breed monsters too. This 50 year old nurse plead guilty to eight counts of first degree murder with 4 counts of attempted murder and 2 counts of aggravated assault. All of which occurred at various nursing homes in Ontario, Canada. Wettlaufer believed that, after years of drug and alcohol abuse, she had not only found, but been chosen by God to be an instrument in his hands. She admitted to injecting her patients with insulin — which goes unnoticed in autopsies — and watched them fade way. This near-decade long crime spree has finally come to an end; however, the scariest thing is
