News has now come that Netflix is bringing the series back with the original show’s creators Terry Dunn and John Cosgrove on board. The new version will focus on a singular mystery and will ask viewers for their help to solve the case. “Stranger Things” producer Shawn Levy will be executive producing the 12-episode first season along with his 21 Laps partner Josh Barry. Blu-ray Review: The Possessed (1965)

Bernard (Peter Baldwin), a sad sack novelist, decides to use that classic cure-all, namely horniness, and sets off to rekindle a relationship with his ex-lover Tilda (Virna Lisi); who works as a maid at a remote hotel located next to a lake. Everything seems hunky-goddammned-dory with the hotel’s owner, Enrico (Salvo Randone) and his daughter Irma (Valentina Cortese)…but it seems Tilda has pulled a David Copperfield and vanished. Having fuck-all to do, Bernard begins investigating the disappearance and ends up spiraling farther down a rabbit hole of perversion, insanity, and murder! The Possessed, comprised of it’s heavily art house influenced style and dark and deadly themes definitely stands as a strong and stylish fore-runner of the beloved murder heavy giallo genre. Directors Luigi Bazzoni, Franco Rossellini present the material with gobs of style and chiaroscuro visuals, but there are definitely moments where the concentration on aesthetics definitely hamper the clarity of the film’s storytelling (a problem also present in a

Get Ready To Binge Netflix’s New True Crime Series ‘The Innocent Man’

Pajamas, popcorn, Netflix, and True Crime…sounds like a great night in, to me. If that sounds like a great way to spend a chilly night to you too, we’ve got your next series to binge, “The Innocent Man”. The series is based on the non-fiction book The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town by John Grisham which documents two murders in the small town of Ada, Oklahoma in the ’80s. In the docu-series directed by Clay Tweel, the residents of the town are interviewed along with the two victim’s friends and family. Evidence and the murders themselves are also examined. As a filmmaker, I often find that the best stories are the ones we tell ourselves, but what surprised me was the extent to which that idea also permeated the criminal justice system. By re-examining these old cases I hope that viewers will identify the biases involved, even their own.” Tweel states. John Grisham, who also makes

On May 3, 2017, Halloween: Resurrection actress Daisy McCrackin and actor Joseph Capone were kidnapped from McCrackin’s home. Three people have now been indicted on charges of kidnapping. Prosecutors allege that two men, Keith Stewart and Johntae Jones, pistol-whipped Capone before dragging him into their vehicle along with McCrackin and covered their heads with black canvas hoods. The two victims were then driven to Jones’ home in Compton. Capone was stripped and held naked in a bathtub for thirty hours and beaten when he attempted to protect McCrackin. Variety reports that indictment states that the next day Jones and Amber Neil took McCrackin to two different Bank of America locations where she withdrew $100. Katherine Knight: Australia’s First Life-Imprisoned Woman

Mother…Wife…Neighbor…Murderer…Butcher…Frying pan enthusiast…possible cannibal…All of these things apply to the first woman in Australia ever to be sentenced to life without parole, Katherine Knight. Katherine was born in 1955 as the result of an affair between her mother and her married father. She witnessed rape and abuse all throughout her growing up years and it certainly left a mark on her psyche (her father allegedly attempted to rape her mother multiple times each day). She and her siblings were moved around to different family members to be raised, but nothing ever really stuck. Katherine was violent, cruel, and ruthless. The only person in the town of Aberdeen that Katherine found any comfort in was her uncle Oscar who tragically committed suicide in 1969. Katherine, in her mind, was left alone although she still maintains that she is visited by his ghost. In 1973, after growing up in these horrific conditions, Katherine eventually met and married her co-worker David Kellett. Kellett

Serial Killer Pedro Rodrigues Filho, The Real “Dexter”

You rarely see a good serial killer, but if you had to cheer one on it would probably be “Dexter”. You might be surprised to learn that there was a real serial killer that would give Dexter a run for his money. Meet Pedro Rodrigues Filho. Filho committed at least 70 murders. He started young, killing at least 10 by the age of 18. His choice of victims sets him apart from the crowd, he didn’t target the average person, instead, he went after other criminals and those he felt had wronged him. The killer, once described as the “perfect psychopath”, had a rough life from the moment he came kicking and screaming into this world. Born in 1954 in Gerais, Brazil, he was born with a head injury caused by the abuse his mother took while pregnant from his dad. He also suffered physical abuse from his father throughout his childhood. Filho’s first murder attempt was at 13 when

Carl Tanzler: A Monster In Love

People fall in love. People become infatuated. People become smitten. It happens to almost everyone; however, sometimes it goes too far. For some people, it goes WAY too far. Carl Tanzler, a German-born, maried doctor fell in love with a woman and was unable to overcome his feelings…even after her death. Born in Germany on February 8, 1877, information about Tanzler was hard to come by for a few years due to his practice of using a menagerie of names, his birth and death certificates read Carl Tanzler, he used Georg Karl Tänzler on his German marriage certificate, his American papers were signed Carl Tanzler von Cosel, and hospital records were signed with the regal-sounding Count Carl Tanzler von Cosel. Despite his oddities – paranoid and eccentric – Tanzler married Doris Ann Shafer in 1920. Together, the couple had two daughters (one of whom passed away from diphtheria) and moved to the United States in 1926. Their ship landed in
