New Trailer & Character Information For ‘We Happy Few’

Gearbox Publishing and Compulsion Games have released the latest trailer for their upcoming psychedelic dystopian twist about England in the 1960’s, “We Happy Few”. As mentioned in a previous article, there will be three playable characters and today new information is available about them! Many know about Arthur, a man who works for the news only allowing “happy” information to be printed. The next character has a connection to Arthur, Ollie, a former soldier who’s impatient and not quite fully there (mentally). And finally, we have Sally, a scientist, and socialite who can blend in and conform allowing her to sneak around. “We Happy Few” will be out August 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

‘The Peterson Case’, A Detective Game That’s Out Of This World

The developers at Quarter Circle Games will plunge players into a detective story like no other in The Peterson Case, a truly unique horror game set in 1947 Roswell, New Mexico. You are Franklyn Reinhardt, a detective, and you’re looking into the disappearance of the Peterson family. While investigating the house, Reinhardt discovers there is something else in the empty home. Players will have to solve puzzles that will help Reinhardt discover what happened to the Peterson family. The obvious element of the story is that The Peterson Case involves aliens, 1947 in Roswell ‘nough said, but it’s not the typical alien encounter type gameplay, it seems to be more cerebral. Reinhardt (from what can be seen in the trailer) is taken to different places or events in his life where it seems the extraterrestrials are pulling the strings. The Peterson Case will be out sometime in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

You Will Be Able To Play Steam Games On Your Phone Soon!

Long train commute? Meeting that goes on forever? Just bored?! Well, Valve has figured out a solution to make those moments and other bearable. The geniuses behind the PC gaming giant have developed a free app for Android and iOS devices. The apps will allow those with Steam accounts to play any game from their game library on their devices provided that your PC is connected to a 5Ghz network or have it plugged in with an ethernet cable. The app will allow users to use Steam and MFI controllers (that may make it hard to play stealthily in a meeting.) Later on, Valve plans to allow users to stream movies and tv shows onto your devices through your Steam library. The app will be coming out the week of May 21st and will only work if you have an internet connection (like pretty much anything these days). Happy Gaming!

Blaming Video Games In Order To Save Face?

Donald Trump says he will be meeting with heads of video game companies next week to discuss violence and video games. This is in response to the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida that was carried out by a former student who’s believed to be mentally ill. The topic of mental health and access to firearms has been a topic of debate since the shooting at Sandy Hook but one thing always comes up that makes records scratch; “it’s the fault of video games.” This has been a topic of debate since the ‘90s, do video games cause crime? Well, this goes back a bit more, 1979 to be exact when a strange incident was blamed on a board game. Back in 1979 child prodigy, James Dallas Egbert III vanished from his dorm room at Michigan State University leaving behind a suicide note. While the search for the boy was underway it was theorized by a private detective working for

‘P.T.’ Changing The Way Games Scare Gamers

Back in August of 2014 players on PlayStation 4 got the chance to play the first ever playable trailer that was known simply as P.T., a first-person horror game like no other. The game ends revealing that this playable trailer was for (at the time) the upcoming game Silent Hills a new installment in the game series, sadly production of the game was canceled. Along with the cancelation came the removal of P.T. from PlayStation Store rendering already downloaded copies of the game unplayable, a move that’s still heavily criticized. Some can argue that P.T. was not the first game to dome something like this, the no combat, first-person horror experience. It’s true, four years prior to P.T. gamers were scared by Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a survival horror game where players explore a dark castle while trying to avoid the creatures that stalk its corridors with no means to protect themselves. A month after Amnesia was released; Alien: Isolation

Horror Games That Need A High Definition Remake

Many games in recent times have been given an HD reboot to be compatible with more recent gamming consoles, Resident Evil (Biohazard) has been given a complete makeover with an all new HD game called Resident Evil (Biohazard) HD Remaster that’s available on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. This would be the game’s second makeover so I thought why stop with this game? There are some horror games in the past that I think are due for an “HD Remaster” makeover too. So here are a few games that I feel deserve a reboot into the HD age in no particular order. Alone in the Dark (PC, 1992) There is a game by the same title that was made in 2008 that’s part of the long game series, I’m talking about the original game that you played on DOS in the 90’s (real 90’s kids know this!) the game is actually considered the first survival horror game to be

9 Zombie Video Game Clichés That Need To Stop

Zombies are fun. Zombie movies are fun to watch. Zombie video games are more fun! There’s nothing like taking your frustrations out on a bunch of virtual undead eating machines and coming out on top. Some games offer you this and then some but over time there are elements in these games that have been done once or twice that start to become overused to the point that they become an annoying cliché that makes the genre repetitive and no longer fun. Since many developers are starting to get into the “immersion” fad. In gaming, culture immersion is when developers want the player(s) to feel like they are literally in the game, generally, this is applied towards VR devices like Oculus Rift but this practice is starting to find its way into non-VR games. For example, the winter sports game Steep the game can only be played online in a public lobby which many gaming fans find annoying (which it

Christmas Zombies With Candy In ‘Dying Light’

Christmas time is here and gifts are coming from the folks at Techland in the form of Elf-dressed Zombies in ‘Dying Light’ the first-person survival horror game where players can craft weapons and use parkour skills to survive a zombie outbreak in a quarantined city. As of the 22nd of December, a community challenge called ‘Sharing is Caring’ where players have to treat the festive-looking zombies “naughty” enough to get 1 of 8 presents before the challenge ends on New Years Day. Basically what you have to do is play ‘Dying Light’ go to either Old Town or the Slums and start your journey and locate the festive zombies in green shirts and red and white striped pants, kill them and loot their bodies of Christmas candy! The best tactic I use to get close enough to these guys is to disguise myself (hence the yellow screen on the pic) so you’re invisible to the zombies and you just sneak

Interview With Minecraft Author Danica Davidson

Recently I had the honor and privilege to interview Author Danica Davidson. Danica is leaving her mark on the literary world with quite an extensive resume but her crowning achievement is being the author of a series of books based on the smash hit video game ‘Minecraft’. Horror Fuel: “What or Who, inspired you to become a writer?” Danica Davidson : “I just liked telling stories ever since I was a little kid. I have stories from when I was three, that I either wrote IN VERY BIG LETTERS or my parents wrote down when I dictated it to them (and the letters look much better). I was writing and illustrating my own stapled-together picture books in first grade and writing novels in middle school. I was even submitting to agents and people in publishing at that time, and they all told me I was too young. I didn’t give up.” Horror Fuel: “You have quite a list of notable
