New Screenshots Of ‘A Plague Tale: Innocence’ Shows Beauty And Despair

In 2019 players will be taken to medieval France during the darkest moments in history, the Black Death, and witness the horrors through the eyes of orphaned siblings Amicia and Hugo De Rune in “A Plague Tale: Innocence”. The game by Asobo Studios combines adventure, stealth, and action as the De Rune siblings are escaping the Inquisition as well as avoiding hoards of ravenous rats! The rats (much like during the actual Plague) play a big role during gameplay. The rats are afraid of light and fire which can be used to keep them at bay, but this could attract Inquisitors. In order to avoid being seen by your human foes, players will have to stick to the shadows but by being in the shadows the rats may come for you so it’s safe to say this game will keep you on your toes. The game will be in third-person and the only real weapons Amicia has at her disposal

Decisions, Consequences, And Blood: Final Thoughts Of ‘Vampyr’

WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD! SKIP DOWN FOR FINAL THOUGHTS. After literal hours and days of playing, I’ve completed “Vampyr”. The game by DONTNOD Entertainment and Focus Home Interactive that’s a vampire tale told uniquely through the eyes of a “newborn” vampire and well-known doctor Jonathan Reid. Reid becomes an Ekon, a “vampire”, after returning home to London after serving three years in the First World War, the city is in the midst of the Spanish Flu epidemic. After becoming an Ekon, Reid accidentally kills his sister and vows revenge on the one who turned him into a creature of the night. Reid is sheltered at a hospital headed by a Doctor whose part of a secret society that studies and works with Ekons. While performing missions, Reid will encounter members of a vampire hunting group known as the Guard of Priwen who actively looks for “leeches” (a term they use to describe Ekons). The humans are not the only threat,

Video Game Review: Thief

“Thief” where do I begin? “Thief” is a 2014 reboot of the PC exclusive stealth series of the same name that was popular back in the 90’s. The series was loved for it’s open world, innovative stealth mechanics and a likable main protagonists. Unfortunately publisher Square Enix and developer Eidos Montreal threw all that out and replaced it with black archaic background #246980, strange game-play and generic grisly archetype #410. As I am writing this review I am listening to Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” which only makes me more depressed to write this review because I really liked the “Thief” series. the original series came out at around the time first person shooters were starting to evolve. We got some of the biggest most influential shooters to date! “DOOM”, “Half Life”, “Halo” and “Thief” , not only did this game have nostalgia credit behind itself but it also had a really good developer handing it. Eidos Montreal who were responsible

Video Game Review: Outlast

Happy Halloween everyone! One of my favorite holidays personally. Free candy, awesome costumes and marathons of horror movies and games. This entire month I’ve been playing horror games non-stop and I’m going to review the 4 games I played. I was gonna review “Alien: Isolation” this week but since the sequel was just announced so I’m gonna review 2013’s surprise hit “Outlast”. “Outlast” was released to PC in 2013 and came out to great success both financially and critically, even getting better reviews then its competition “Amnesia”. Do to “Outlast”s success Canadian developer Red Barrels ported it to new-gen consoles bringing “Outlast” to a whole new audience and making it a mainstay series. So what is “Outlast” about? In “Outlast” you play as Miles Upshur, a freelance photojournalist who was tipped off by a whistle blower about radical experiments being performed on the mental patients at “Mount Massive Asylum” in Colorado and the world must know what is happening. Miles

Outlast 2 Confirmed

One of the scariest games of all time is getting a sequel! Although it was teased last year it wasn’t until this morning where Canadian game developer Red Barrels confirmed that they are making a sequel to their successful survivor horror game “Outlast” nicely titled “Outlast 2”. Not much information has been released other then that this game will deal with the fallout of the events of the first game and that the night vision camera will return. “Outlast” was a first person survival horror game that had you playing a photojournalist tipped off by an unnamed source that very “evil” things are happening at an asylum up in Colorado. Once you arrive there you discover something far beyond evil is happening and now you must run and hide for your life and escape the horrors of the asylum. I’m going to be writing a review for the game tomorrow so if you are interested in “Outlast” definitely check back

The Escapist “The Walking Dead” game available now

A little while back a small indie game called “The Escapists” was released onto next-gen consoles and PC and was a pretty big success. The game was a “Shawshank Redemption”-esque game, where you played a character trying to escape from a prison. Well now the developers of the game Team 17 have now taken their gameplay and 8 bit pixel style graphics and mixed it with “The Walking Dead”. The game places you in control of Rick Grimes and has you creating safe escape routes to help and secure survivors from large areas. You have to fend off zombies and rescue as many survivors as you can. The unique aspect of the game though is how it takes most of its source material not from the TV show but from the comics, so you’ll see some very similar locations as well as new places not yet seen in the show. “The Escapist: The Walking Dead” is avalible now on Xbox

Resident Evil HD combo pack announced

A little while back I wrote an article about how Capcom is re-releasing “Resident Evil 2” to new-gen consoles. Later on they announced that they were remaking “Resident Evil Zero”, a prequel to the original “Resident Evil”. Now Capcom has announced that they are bundling together “Resident Evil Zero” with the HD remaster of the first “Resident Evil” game that was released this January for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. Titled “Resident Evil: Origins” it is set to release January 22nd 2016 for an asking price of $20. Both games are being made to run in 1080p and 60 frames per second. This new bundle is also adding a “Wesker” mode which allows players to play as Albert Weskers and Rebecca Chambers in a story mode that leads up to the events of the original “Resident Evil”. So to recap; the first “Resident Evil” is available for purchase now, it will later be bundled with “Resident Evil Zero” this

“Zombi” available right now on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC

“Zombi-U” was a rogue like survival horror game that had you surviving in a zombie apocalypse in London, England. The twist though was that there was nothing special about your character, every time you died you would not re-spawn but become a brand new character and with your new character you would have to trek back to where you last died, kill the now zombified character you just were, collect your things and continue on surviving in the zombie apocalypse. Whether or not there was an actual story to it I’m unsure of but I will get to that later. “Zombie-U” was released exclusively as a Wii-U launch title until now where Ubisoft has released a port of the game to Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC and has aptly named it “Zombi”. It is available now for $19.99 and includes ungraded graphics and a brand new overhaul for new-gen and PC players. I actually own the Wii-U version of

Video Game Review: Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

“Wolfenstein: The Old Blood” is a stand alone prequel to 2014’s “Wolfenstein: The New Order”. Set in 1946 it features our main protagonist BJ Blazkowics (the shirtless man pictured above) sent undercover into Castle Wolfenstein in order to steal an important file that holds top secret information containing the whereabouts of the evil leader of the Nazi army General Deathshead who’s technical advances are destroying the Allied forces. Finding this file is the miracle the Allies need in order to turn the tide and hope to defeat the Nazis once and for all and it’s all up to BJ and you but of course soon after you infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein everything goes awry and the mission that ensues is fantastic! For those who are unfamiliar with the “Wolfenstein” franchise, It’s considered the king of first person shooters and is always allotted as being the actual very first FPS to ever be made. The story and concept itself are very straight

Video Game Review: Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 2

After weeks of delay I was finally able to finish Telltale’s second season of their award winning “The Walking Dead” series and after years of avoiding spoilers I was able to see if this game was up to par or better than it’s predecessor and well long story short; it’s good but not as good. Season 2 picks up a couple of months after the events of Season 1 and through a series of unfortunate events Clementine, the young girl we had to take care of in the 1st season is now older, mature and most importantly exposed to the horrors of living in a zombie apocalypse. She ends up with a new group of survivors with a shady past and together embark on a trip to head north and hope that the winter is too much for the dead. Story wise Season 2 is very strong with plenty of twists and difficult decisions unfortunately most of these choices and
