‘Fortnite’ Hit With Lawsuits

The game that’s taking the gaming world by storm may soon find itself in serious legal trouble. Epic Games’ hit “Fortnite” is popular with children, gamers, and youtubers/streamers looking for a quick buck by piggybacking on the game’s success to the point of sacrificing “content” on their channels by having nothing but all videos of themselves playing the game. The game is also popular because it’s free to download but revenue is generated through what’s known in gaming as “Microtransactions”, that’s buying in-game items with real-world cash. Players of “Fortnite” buy skins for their characters and other cosmetic items. One thing players cherish most and will spend a lot of money on are the “emotes” most particularly dance moves players can make their characters do. They say imitation is a form of flattery but three stars don’t agree. Russell Horning became a viral star with his famous dance move known as “floss’n”, one of the most popular dance moves in

‘Jurassic World Evolution’ Review

I always wanted a pet Dinosaur when I was a kid, I think that was a common wish by most youngsters. After seeing the “Jurassic Park” films over the years I think that changed my opinion but I can live that wild dream again in the business simulation video game, “Jurassic World Evolution”. Frontier Developments was kind enough to allow me early access to the game. The game is basically like your theme park simulation games except you are dealing with dinosaurs in the “Jurassic World” universe (meaning all hell will break loose). You take on the role of a park manager on the Las Cinco Muertes (the five deaths) island where you are building a new “Jurassic World” theme park and to help you along the way is Ian Malcolm offering his opinions and advice along with other characters from the films, and yes, Jeff Goldblum is playing Malcolm! Onto the game; if you’re not familiar with business/multitasking/management type

‘Frostpunk’ Makes Players Survive Whatever The Cost

The team over at 11 bit studios, the makers of the critically acclaimed survival game This War of Mine, will be releasing another thought-provoking “actions have consequences” style game, Frostpunk where players take on the role of a ruler known as the “Captain” who is leading survivors to build a self-sustaining city while making some hard decisions. The story takes place in an alternate Steampunk reality of 1886. It’s summer but global temperatures have dropped well below freezing turning the world into a frozen wasteland. The player takes on the role of a leader of a group of survivors who he’s led to a gigantic furnace where they can stay warm and build a city around it. Players will have to deal with the plight of their people ranging from hunger, disease, monotony, and the human condition. Players will not only have to gather resources to build but also have to make decisions (or “events” as they’re called) that could

Raising Awareness: Final Thoughts On ‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’

This is a Spoiler Free article! Ninja Theory has released on Xbox One today their hit game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice that received positive reviews when it was on PlayStation 4 and PC. Ninja Theory allowed me to play the Xbox One version early and write a review for it. After finally completing the game, all I can say is the last time I’ve ever played a game that made me sit back and say “Wow…” after completing it was Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 2 back in 2006. The following are my final thoughts on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice a game that’s both haunting and beautiful. It’s no big secret; the storyline’s core is about Senua’s mental health, this would make her relatable to the 1 in 5 American adults who suffer from all ranges of mental illnesses. The developers kept it no secret that Senua suffers from Psychosis, right now you’re probably thinking negatively of her thanks in part

Review Of ‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’ On Xbox One

In August of 2017 indie-game developer Ninja Theory released on PlayStation 4 and PC, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The game was so popular on PS4 and PC it earned high praises from both critics and players alike as well as winning nine awards! With this success, Ninja Theory expanded the game’s potential and will release it on Xbox One on April 11th, 2018! I’ve been granted the honor by Ninja Theory to review it before it hit’s selves. All I can say now is you need to get this game! The game is heavily influenced by ancient Celtic culture along with Norse mythology, that’s enough right there to make you throw your wallets at the screen right now. The game revolves not just on the culture and mythology but on our heroine Senua’s mental health, Ninja Theory worked closely with mental health experts to make this part of the experience as real as possible, this is where the game is unique.
