No, that’s not a screen-shot (above) of an Instagram post. That is the new poster for Amityville: The Awakening. If it comes across to you as both weird and clever, you’re not alone. It is a little hard to take it serious as a poster though.
Joan (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a single Mother, and her three children, one who is very ill, have relocated to a new town and a new home. Unaware of its history and reputation, the family moves into the Amityville house, where Butch DeFeo butchered his family all those years ago. Things quickly go from bad to worse when the family begins to experience intense paranormal phenomena.
Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Bella Thorne (Blended), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Thomas Mann (Project X) and Robo Cop’s Kurtwood Smith star in Amityville: The Awakening, written and directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac), which is finally coming to theaters on April 1st via Dimension after a series of delays. Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions is serving as producer for the film.
