Ahead of tomorrow’s premiere of I Saw the TV Glow, the killer soundtrack has just become available for pre-order. The soundtrack features Caroline Polachek‘s new single “Starburned and Unkissed” as well as songs from Florist, Bartees Strange, Yeule, L’Rain, Jay Som, and Alex G’s out-of-this-world original score.
I Saw the TV Glow was written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun, who is also known for the critically acclaimed 2021 film We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. The film is already generating buzz, having premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, and currently boasts a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film takes inspiration from the 1982 classic horror film Poltergeist and sees a seemingly harmless television set become a conduit for evil spirits. However, I Saw the TV Glow goes beyond the haunted technology trope. It offers more than just familiar jump scares. It weaves contemporary themes of sexuality, gender identity, and social anxieties into its chilling narrative.
Justice Smith (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (“Atypical”) star alongside Ian Foreman, Helena Howard, and Danielle Deadwyler. Additionally, the film boasts intriguing guest appearances by musicians Caroline Polachek, Phoebe Bridgers, and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.
