This afternoon I was lucky enough to snatch up the last copy of ‘Horns’ off the shelf of my local Wal-Mart. As soon as I got home I sat down to see for myself what all the buzz was about.

I was immediately drawn into the tragic love story of a young woman, Merrin, who was murdered and a town convinced that her boyfriend “Ig” is her killer. Iggy, played by Daniel Radcliffe , is hell bent on finding the identity of her killer and bringing them to justice. After a drunken night Ig wakes up to find horns sprouting from his head. The strange horns have unique powers. Everyone who faces Ig must confess to him their darkest truths and cannot help but follow Ig’s commands.

The effects and makeup in ‘Horns’ are fantastic. The imagery was incredible. ‘Horns’ truly has an amazing cast and Daniel Radcliffe really brings his character to life. I don’t think anyone could have played the role better. Juno Temple (Maleficent) is ‘Horns’ leading lady, Merrin. Actor Joe Anderson plays Ig’s brother Terry. You may recognize Anderson from his role in the 2010 horror-thriller ‘The Crazies’. Max Minghella (The Internship) plays Lee, Ig’s life long friend and lawyer, the only one fighting to keep Ig out of jail.

Director Alexandre Aja did a great job with this novel to movie adaption. Aja has a great record when it comes to horror movies. He also directed the horror hits ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ and ‘Mirrors’.

‘Horns’ is adapted from the international best selling novel by Joe Hill.
