Valiant Entertainment has announced a five-picture arrangement with Sony. The deal will ensure that two of Valiant’s series ‘Harbinger’ and ‘Bloodshot’ will be headed to production for the big screen.
‘John Wick’ directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch will be teaming up to bring the screenplay, written by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ writer Eric Heisserer.
The ‘Harbinger’ series follows a group of beings with super human abilities, who are on the run from an organization run by the mysterious Toyo Harada. ‘Harbinger’ was created by David Lapham and Jim Shooter, who was once the editor-in-chief of Marvel.
‘Boodshot’, created by Kevin VanHook, Bob Layton and Don Perlin about a soldier brought back to life by a government agency. After being revived with no memory, the soldier becomes a unstoppable, brutal killing machine.
Each title will be have two movies, then will be tied together by ‘Harbinger Wars’, the fifth movie. The series will create an ‘Avengers’ style universe, all based on the comic book series.
The ‘Harbinger’ and ‘Bloodshot’ will be released in 2017. Valiant’s ‘Shadowman’ is also being adapted for a movie, along with several other Valiant properties.
