We reported back in August that a movie, based on Disney’s Tower of Terror ride, was in the works. Now Disney is moving forward and looking to hire a screen writer for the project, according to Deadline. John August and Jim Whitiker will be producing the film that revolves around five people in a hotel elevator that disappears after it struck by lightening.

‘ The Tower of Terror’, originally based an episode of ‘The Twilight Zone’, is getting it’s own film. This is not the first time the subject has come up at Disney headquarters. A movie has been discussed in the past, but was dropped until screenwriter John August, who has worked with Tim Burton several times in the past, pitched the idea again to Disney and they said yes.
