The sequel to 2014’s horror-comedy Wolf Cop, Wolf Cop 2, will begin filming in Saskatchewan, Canada in February, and we couldn’t be more excited!

In Wolf Cop we were introduced to Lou Garou (Leo Fafard), an alcohol chugging, lazy, small town cop. Lou was a poor excuse for a cop and a human being, that was until he was the victim of an assault and a dark ritual in the back woods after a call. The ritual transformed Lou into a werewolf and a better man. Lou’s now on a mission to rid his town of corruption and drug dealers. He also happens to be a bit of a party animal.

Lowell Dean’s film made a huge impression on fans, including myself, and formed an instant cult following. Wolf Cop 2‘s producer Bernie Hernando promises that “the sequel will be bigger, badder, and hairer.”

“We’re excited to get the band back together after all this time,” Hernando stated. “Many of the key creatives on the original project were from Saskatchewan; we considered the initial opportunity to bring a homegrown script to life, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Now it’s twice-in-a-lifetime.”

When I spoke with Lowell Dean about the Indiegogo campaign, back in June, he had this to say about the sequel:

“Leo Fafard will be returning as WolfCop. I can’t give away too much of the plot, but I will say things are going to get crazier. WolfCop will be put to the test in the sequel. The first one was an origin story, this one is an “on the run” action/horror/comedy.”

The Indiegogo campaign raised an extra $30,000, not to fund the film itself, but so that a major star could be brought on board. There is no word yet who that might be.

Personally, I can’t wait to see Wolf Cop 2. The first film was a howling good time!
