Television is flush with horror series these days, but there are only a few horror comedies. IFC will soon will soon have a new horror-comedy of their own, titled Stan Against Evil.
The series follows Stanley Miller, a moody, aging New England sheriff who has lost his position due to a angry outburst at an inappropriate moment – the funeral of his wife. He’s not a man who is easy to get along with, he’s judgmental and set in his ways. When the sheriff Evie Barett opens his eyes to to the plague of demons running a muck in their small New Hampshire town, Stan reluctantly teams up with his replacement to rid the town of its demons.
Deadline reports that John C. McGinley (Scrubs) has been cast as sheriff Stanley in Stan Against Evil, which has an 8-episode order for its first season. Actress-comedian Janet Varney (You’re the Worst) will star along side McGinley. Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Parks and Recreations) will both pen the series and serve as executive producer along side Tom Lassally of 3 Arts, Justin Wilkes of RadicalMedia and Frank Scherma.

Stan Against Evil is set to begin filming in Atlanta this June. We hope to know more soon.
