The horror anthology Volumes of Blood, directed by Jakob Bilinski, Nathan Thomas Miller, John Kenneth Muir, Lee Vervoort and P.J. Starks, who also serves as producer, is preparing for its release on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday (April 26). The film centers on a group of four college students gathered in the library on Halloween night. For their last school project the group has decided to create a series of new urban legends. We go around the table as they one by one invent new legends.
In the first segment of the anthology features a women, studying late in the library, struggling to stay awake and focus. Suddenly a man appears, offering her a brand new energy drink. What she expects to be a pick-me-up ends up blowing her mind.
The second segment is a ghostly tale. In black and white, a librarian keeps stumbling upon a book on ghosts in the strangest places. Quickly it becomes obvious that he is being stalked behind the rows of books by the ghost of a woman.
Part three features a young woman working on a project. What starts out as a good night ends in blood shed after a prank goes terribly wrong.
A librarian receives a harassing phone call from the mother of her dead boyfriend in the next segment. The woman blames herself for his suicide. When she discovers a satanic volume she makes a wish to see him again. He returns, but he’s not the same man she loved. Her sins come to light as she fights to survive on Halloween night.
All of the tales come together in the final segment as the group of students compare their stories. But, one of the friends has a plan that will create a new urban legend that no one will soon forget.
Kristine Renee Farley, Jim O’Rear, Jason Crowe, Kevin Roach, P.J. Sparks, Roni Jonah, Alexandria Hendricks, and Jakob Bilinski star in the ode to old school slashers and horror films of the 80s.
