Since its initial announcement, New Line’s  IT remake has had trouble getting off the ground. Earlier this year we received word that Will Poulter would no longer be playing the evil clown Pennywise. For months fans have been recommending actors they think would fit the part. Rumors have been swirling the past few weeks that an actor had signed on for the part. News comes today via that an actor has indeed been chosen.

Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard (brother of Alexander Skarsgard) is putting on the red nose and starring as Pennywise, originally played by Tim Curry. Skarsguard is most well known for his role on Eli Roth’s series Hemlock Grove and in The Divergent Series: Allegiant.
