Last week we reported that Saw: Legacy will begin filming in September. At the time, the film’s director had not been announced. Today, word has come via Fangoria that the 8th film in the franchise has found its director(s).

Australian brothers Michael and Peter Spierig have signed on to fill the director’s chairs. The Spierig brothers directed 2010’s vampire film Daybreakers, starring Ethan Hawke. They are also directing the upcoming film based on The Winchester Mystery House

The film has another brother duo, Josh and Pete Goldfinger (Piranha 3D), penning the script for Legacy.  Little else is known about Saw: Legacy at this point, except that James Wan and Leigh Whannell will be returning to produce. For now, Lionsgate is keeping the details surrounding Legacy hush-hush. But we will keep you updated as we learn more.
