Get ready to howl at the moon with a real party animal, ‘Bubba the Redneck Werewolf‘ is coming to DVD. Mitch Hyman announced last night via Facebook that his horror-comedy is getting its DVD release this October. It is a perfect time for Bubba to come to DVD, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of Hyman’s comic, considered a cult classic among collectors, that the film is based on. It’s a great comic by the way.
Director Brendan Jackson Rogers delivers this indie film starring Malone Thomas, Mitch Hyman, Gary Norris, Sara Humbert, Chris Stephens and Fred Lass as Bubba. The soundtrack for this fun feature is provided by the rockabilly band The Blast-Offs.
Bubba (Stephens), a dogcatcher, wants nothing more than to win back his high school sweetheart, Bobbie Jo (Thomas). When the Devil (Hyman) appears, Bubba signs a deal that the Devil says will transform him into a bad-ass, instead he wakes up as a werewolf. Bubba is put to the test when he must save his town from a horde of zombies, bikers and other no-good groups looking to take over his backwoods haven in this funny film.
The release of Bubba after years of making the film and proving independent film makers can go whole hog and produce something as good as any Major studio project is a light of hope to all who dream as big as I.” Hyman told us about the film’s release.
‘Bubba the Redneck Werewolf’ will arrive on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD from MVD Entertainment Group on October 11th, just in time for Halloween and trust me, you want to see it. Be sure to follow Bubba’s official Facebook page. If you’re looking for a tasty pick-me-up. you should head over to CoffeeShopOfHorrors.com and grab a bag of Bubba’s Spiced Rum Coffee. That’s right, ‘Bubba the Redneck Werewolf’ has his own coffee and it’s pretty damn tasty.
