Fans of ‘Ash vs Evil Dead‘ (including us) are eagerly awaiting the series’ return this October. The second season is going to bigger and badder (in a good way) than the first. We will not only get a look at Ash’s (Bruce Campbell) past, we will meet his dad, his childhood best friend, an old high school sweetheart and see some serious deadite ass-kicking. A new “big bad” will be introduced this season. We will also see what is being described as the “most outrageous death scene to ever be aired on television“. It’s going to be incredible!
The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There he confronts Ruby, and the former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.
Starz has just released this season’s character promotional images and we just happen to have them right here. First up is the man himself, Ash (Bruce Campbell). Campbell’s character first appeared in 1981’s cult classic, ‘The Evil Dead’. Now, he’s back and still as charismatic and bad-ass as ever. But this time he’s not in the fight alone. He’s got two sidekicks, Pablo and Kelly, who fight alongside him against deadites and the evil dead.
Pablo, played by Ray Santiago, will still be coping with the trauma he experienced in the cabin last season.
Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) is still mourning the loss of her parents at the hands of a deadite. She’s been busy plotting her revenge on the evil dead.
Ruby (Lucy Lawless) now possesses the powerful Necronomicon, but we will see in season 2 that she may have bitten off more than she can chew.
We will soon meet Ash’s dear old dad, played by Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man, Weeds). Let’s just say Ash takes after his Pops.
In Elk Grove, we’ll meet Ash’s childhood friend, played by actor/director/producer Ted Raimi.
Ash’s high school sweetheart, played by ‘Law & Order: SVU’s’ Michelle Hurd, will be introduced. Her character will have a reoccurring role.
Just when we thought Ash and his crew had faced the worst, we learn that this season a new big bad is coming. Joel Tobeck stars as “Baal”, a creature that is more powerful than anything Ash has ever gone up against before.
Exciting, isn’t it? It’s not over just yet. Take a look at the brand new season 2 poster. ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’, we salute you.
Sam Raimi serves as executive producer alongside Campbell (Evil Dead, Burn Notice), Rob Tapert (Evil Dead), Ivan Raimi (Drag Me to Hell), and Craig DiGregorio who is also ‘Ash VS Evil Dead’s showrunner.
‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ returns for season 2 on Starz on October 2nd. Don’t miss it! If you haven’t seen the first season I have good news. The entire season is now out on Blu-ray and DVD.
