We’ve been following ‘Patient Seven’, an upcoming horror anthology, for a while. Back in August we reported the release of its new poster and trailer. Terror Films has now announced the release date along with a new clip. They will release a new clip every week up to the film’s October debut on VOD and Digital HD, followed by its DVD release in the months to come.
The anthology includes a wrap around directed by Danny Draven and was penned by Barry Jay Stitch. ‘Patient Seven’ consists of seven award winning short films from directors all around the world. Nicholas Peterson, Paul Davis, Ómar Örn Hauksson, Dean Hewison, Erlingur Ottar Thoroddsen, Joel Morgan, Johannes Persson and Rasmus Wassberg directed the segments featured in the anthology.
The cast for the film includes Doug Jones who appeared in many films including ‘Hellboy’, ‘Crimson Peak’ and ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’. Jones will star alongside Amy Smart (The Single Mom’s Club) and Alfie Allen of ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘John Whick’, as well as horror veteran Michael Ironside (Scanners), Jack Plotnick (Reno 911!: Miami), Grace Van Dien (San Andres Quake), William Mark McCullough (Free Sate of Jones), Daniel Lench (Circle), Amanda Graeff (Street Shadows) and Anna Rose Morre (Messenger), among others.
In the film Dr. Marcus (Ironside), a renowned psychiatrist, has selected 6 severely mentally ill and dangerous patients to interview as research for his book. One by one they recount the horrors they have committed. The doctor discovers that there is one patient the hospital’s administrator, Dr. Vincent (Plotnick) has kept from him and he is determined to find out why.
‘Patient Seven’ will arrive on VOD and Digital HD on October 11th and have a limited release on Redbox this November, followed by its DVD debut.
