Sci-fi is defiantly big this year. There have been several to come out and several in production. Now, James McAvoy is in talks to star in the sci-fi thriller-action film ‘Extinction’ from Good Universe and Mandeville Films, Deadline reports. McAvoy has stared in many films including ‘Victor Frankenstein‘, ‘Wanted’ and several ‘X-Men’ films.

‘Extinction’ follows a man haunted by nightmares in which his wife is assaulted and becomes a hero when Earth is invaded by an army bent on destruction.

The film is currently in development and searching for a director. David Hoerman and Todd Liebernab are producing. Several writers worked on the script, including Brad Caleb Kane (Black Sails), Spenser Cohen and Eric Heisserer. We will update you when we know more.
