This year’s Days of the Dead Convention in Atlanta will soon be here and we can’t wait! They are already announcing guests, musicians and events almost daily. Some of the biggest names in horror will be there signing autographs and offering photo ops.
Genre icons like Linda Blair (The Exorcist), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), PJ Soles (Halloween), will be there.
There will be a ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ reunion that includes Bill Moseley, Bill Johnson, and Caroline Williams.
There be not one, but four of the actors who have played Jason Voorhees, including Kane Hodder and Derek Mears.
Let’s not forget most of the child stars from the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ will be attending, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp.
As for musicians, Marilyn Manson’s Twiggy Ramirez will be there to thrill us.
It was announced today that genre icon, actor, director, and special effects master Tom Savini will also be there!
And that’s just the beginning. New guests are being announced daily up to the start of the convention on February 3rd, 2017. If you haven’t purchased your tickets now is the time to do it (HERE). Book your hotel room now, before they run out (available on the DOTD website). You can monitor the ever-growing list of celebrity appearances, events and parties, by visiting the official Days of the Dead website and following Days of the Dead on Facebook and on Twitter.
You also will have a chance to score free loot from Horror Fuel. I will be there. Find me and say “Fuel my hunger for horror” and I will give you goodies right then and there. I hope to see you there!
If you are not able to make it to Days of the Dead Atlanta (Feb 3-5) don’t worry, they have conventions all over the US (see their website for more info).
Update (1/4/17):
Horror icon Doug Bradley, known for his role as “Pinhead” in the ‘Hellraiser’ franchise, will be attending the convention.
It has just been announced that fan favorite Sid Haig will be returning for this year’s Days of the Dead Convention. Haig has starred in many genre films, including ‘House of 1000 Corpses’, ‘The Devil’s Rejects’, and the upcoming film ‘Death House‘.
I met Haig a few years ago at a Days of the Dead convention, he is hilarious, friendly and just plain awesome.
