Fans were crushed when NBC canceled the fantastic, perfectly cast, supernatural series ‘Constantine’. They have continued to begs networks to revive the series and The CW was listening.

The network has announced that they are bringing ‘Constantine’ back with Matt Ryan reprising his role, but there is a catch, the series will be animated. The show will air on The CW’s digital network, CW Seed. Deadline reports that five 10-minute episodes have been ordered so far.

The new show will air alongside CW Seed’s ‘Vixen’, a character who has also made appearances on ‘Arrow‘ and ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’. This isn’t the first time Matt Ryan has appeared as an animated Constantine. The character also appeared in this year’s ‘Justice League Dark‘. With so many people interested in ‘Constantine’ I can’t help but wonder why a network hasn’t revived the live action series.
