There are creatures who are born on this earth who are comparable to those created by the best mind in horror for literature, movies and campfire stories. However, every once in a while, a demon is born who trumps even the sickest and wildest imaginations. Albert Fish is one of those…maybe THE one of those. This creature is known as The Grey Man, The Werewolf of Wysteria, The Brooklyn Vampire, and The Boogieman. He is known for extreme sexual perversions, pedophilia, coprophilia, urophilia, and masochism. Albert Hamilton Fish was born in Washington DC on May 19, 1870. His life had a difficult and tragic beginning. Many members of his family suffered from various mental illnesses and were unfit to raise Fish. He was placed in hyper-religious orphanage and routinely beaten and whipped. ‘A Cure For Wellness’ May Be Found In This Super Bowl Commercial

The Super Bowl is currently underway and let’s be honest, the commercials are the best part (#SorryNotSorry). One of the night’s commercials is for Gore Verbinski’s upcoming eerie thriller ‘A Cure for Wellness’. The film centers on “an ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious ‘wellness center’ at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.” Dane DeHaan, Jason Isaacs, Mia Goth, Celia Imrie, Susanne Wuest, Lisa Banes, Carl Lumbly, Adrian Schiller, Natalia Bobrich, and Eric Todd star. ‘A Cure for Wellness’, will arrive in theaters on February 17, 2017, from 20th Century. Wyrmwood: Road Of The Dead – The Series

Back in 2014, writer-director Klah Roache-Turner unleashed his Australian zombie film ‘Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead‘ which got both a warm reception from genre fans and from us (review). For fans of ‘Wyrmwood’, and zombie fans in general, we have great news. The hit film is getting a spin-off a series. In fact, the official Facebook page for ‘Wyrmwood’ shared an image from the costume test of two of the film’s stars, Bianca Bradley and Jay Gallagher, who will also be appearing in the series. The caption on the image reads: “SO super-awesome to see these two legends in the studio again! The teaser’s gonna be BAAAAADASS!!!” In the comment section it states that the series will deliver “six hours of content instead of another 95-minutes.” While currently being written, the show will reportedly be on “a streaming platform rather than Aussie TV.” That’s a good thing for us here in the states. Sarah Paulson Joins Cast of Amazon’s Craigslist Murder Movie, LOST GIRLS

She has dealt with witchy girls, slept cheek by jowl with “freaks”, inhabited a haunted hotel, and even prosecuted a double murderer. But now Sarah Paulson will step into the skin of Mari, the mother of a young woman named Shannan, who is one of many escorts and prostitutes to fall victim to a serial killer. Paulson has been cast to star in the Amazon Studios’ serial killer thriller, Lost Girls. The movie tells the story of a real life serial killer on Long Island, who was often referred to by the media as the “Gilgo Beach Killer”. But due to the fact that many of the killer’s victims were sex workers, who were found on Craigslist, the killer was dubbed with the more familiar moniker of the “Craigslist Ripper” . The True Story Of ‘Frank Johnny Garrett’s Last Word’ – Arriving On VOD This March

Simon Rumley’s ‘ film ‘Johnny Frank Garrett’s Last Word’ is set for a March release. One thing that adds to the terror of the film is that is based on a true story. So, who was the real Frank Johnny Garrett, you might ask? Let me fill you in. The Crime On October 31, 1981, at 7:30 a.m., the battered, bloodied, dead body of 76-year-old Sister Teadea Benz was discovered inside the St. Francis Convent in Potter County, Texas. The sister was found in her second story bedroom brutally attacked, raped, stabbed, and strangled. Clues, including finger prints, led police to one suspect and on November 9, 1981 Johnny Frank Garrett, who lived across the street from the convent, was arrested for Sister Benz’s murder. The Sentence Garrett was convicted of the crime and sentenced to death. He would spent his remaining days on death row in Huntsville, Texas. Dates for 2017 Stranger With My Face International Film Festival Announced

The Stranger With My Face International Film Festival, which takes it’s name from the title of a young adult horror fiction novel written by Lois Duncan, is returning May 4th – 7th for its fifth edition. The four day festival will be held in Tasmania’s capital city of Hobart, and will include screenings, conferences, workshops, exhibitions and a number of year round “satellite events”. The festival specifically showcases the work of women directors, as well as exploring female perspectives within the realm of genre film. It has also become an important resource in Australia for genre film, and takes great pride in its involvement with the Women in Horror movement. I have always found that unsolved murders and crimes are absolutely terrifying. The thought that people can commit heinous acts and then go about the rest of their lives without punishment, consequence or atonement is not only terrifying, but astounding with resources at our disposal for crime solving. I understand that the real world is not CSI…and it is definitely not CSI:Miami, but it still boggles me how people can walk away from their real life horror. On November 17, 1978 four staff members were closing up at the Burger Chef franchise in Indiana. Suspicions were aroused when none of them returned home after their shift. Police assumed that they had all gone off partying with $500 that had also gone missing, but the truth was much grislier. The Strangers 2 to be Helmed by Indie Horror Director Johannes Roberts

It’s been nine years since “Dollface”, “Pin-Up Girl”and the “Man in the Mask” set upon and terrorized a young couple in their secluded vacation home in Brian Bertino’s 2008 film, The Strangers. Now the trio are coming out of hiding, if they were in fact really hiding, to wreak similar havoc upon a family of four in a whole new venue. Bertino is back to write the script for The Strangers 2, and will be joined in this endeavor by The Forest screenwriter, Ben Ketai. However, this time around it will be The Other Side of the Door director, Johannes Roberts, sitting in the director’s chair as the gruesome threesome commit their malevolent acts. As of right now, the US based production of the film is preparing for cameras to roll sometime this summer. Serial killers, there’s no doubt that it’s a subject that fascinates us as a society. The evidence can be found in the popularity of movies and books chronicling the exploits of these real life monsters.
