At the SXSW Film Festival AMC gave a first look at Preacher’s second season. They also unveiled a first batch of images from season 2, as well as announcing the premiere date.
Season 2, featuring 13 episodes, follows Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his ass-kicking girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish, alcoholic vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as the embark on a road trip to track down God. The trio is caught in a fight between heaven and Hell and everywhere in between, all while trying to escape the Saint of Killers who is hot on their trail.

The show is based on the graphic novel by Garth Ennis who co-executive produces the television series alongside Seth Rogan and Sam Catlin. Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-produce. Breaking Bad‘s Sam Catlin serves as showrunner for the critically-acclaimed series.
Ian Coletti (Baby Mama), Graham McTavish (Outlander), Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones), Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Julie Ann Emery (Fargo), Malcolm Barrett (Dear White People), Justin Prentice (Awkward), and Ronald Guttman (Mad Men) co-star.
Preacher will return to AMC on Monday, June 19th at 9:00 pm ET/PT.
