Vampires and psychics and werewolves, oh my! We first told you about the upcoming supernatural series Midnight, Texas back last year. Soon, the trailer was released. This February we broke the news that Friday the 13th star Derek Mears would be making an appearance on the new show. Now, NBC has announced that we will see Midnight, Texas premiere this summer.
Midnight, Texas, an adaption of Charlaine Harris’ novel series by the same name, is closely tied to True Blood. Featuring Vampires, witches, werewolves and the supernatural, there is a chance that the two series may crossover at some point.
While it looks normal from the outside, Midnight is a safe haven for all supernatural beings, as well as humans, fortune tellers and other outcasts. Residents must deal with bikers, police and other challenges, all while coping with each other and while trying to find a murderer.
The lead role of Manfred Bernardo, a powerful psychic and the new guy in town, will be played by François Arnaud (Blindspot). Orphan Black’s Dylan Bruce will co-star as Bobo Winthrop, the owner of the local pawn shop and a lot of real estate in the town. Jason Lewis, Joanne Camp, Parisa Fitz-Henley, John-Paul Howard, Bob Jesser, Arielle Kebbel, Shannon Lorance, Lora Martinez-Cunningham, Peter Mensah, Sarah Ramos, Kyle Pierson, Bernado Saracino, Kellee Stewart, and Tommy Truex will co-star.
Monica Owusu-Breen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) serves as both writer and executive producer along with David Janollari (Six Feet Under) and Arden Oplev (Mr. Robot) who will direct the series, premiering on Tuesday, July 25 at 10pm.
