Dimension Films’ latest Project, Polaroid, has begun principle photography in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The film is from the producers of both The Ring and The Grudge, Roy Lee and Chris Bender, so we have high hopes for it.
Based on the short film by Lars Kleberg who is also in the director’s chair for the feature film, written by Blair Butler, Polaroid stars Kathryn Prescott, Mitch Pileggi, Grace Zabriskie, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana, Madelaine Petsch, and Javier Botet whose most recent role was in Annabelle 2.
The story centers on a high school loner named Bird Fitcher, who stumbles upon a vintage Polaroid camera tainted by a dark secret. She soon discovers that the camera has a special power, anyone whose photo is taken is destined for a tragic fate.
Polaroid will arrive in theaters on August 25, 2017. Below you will find the short that inspired the feature film.
