Earlier this month we reported that Netflix will be delivering a new anime Godzilla film, titled Godzilla: Monster Planet. Today, we have more details, thanks to the official website.
Set 20,000 years in the future, the film reveals that monsters have taken over the planet, human civilization has been destroyed, and the remaining survivors have fled to outer space. Haruo, a young man who witnessed his parents killed by Godzilla, leads a group of explorers back to earth in an attempt to reclaim it from the monstrous beasts.
Yuki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, Tomokazu Sugita, and Mamoru Miyano will lend their voices to the characters of the film.
Directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, Godzilla: Monster Planet is scheduled for a Japanese theatrical release this November, followed by a worldwide release later this year.
