The upcoming spin-off to The Conjuring 2, The Nun, will open in theaters this summer. A new cast member has joined the film and it is none other than Taissa Farmiga. Her last name should sound familiar, her big sister, Vera Farmiga, co-starred in both The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 in the pivotal role of Lorraine Warren.
Taissa has appeared in several films such as We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Buried Child, and The Final Girls. You may have also seen her on American Horror Story where she appeared from 2011 to 2016 in the roles of Zoe, Violet and Sophie. Taissa will co-star alongside Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight).
Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is in the director’s chair for The Nun, which he co-wrote with James Wan and Gary Dauberman. Wan will also be producing alongside Peter Safran.
Set to open in theaters nationwide on July 13, 2017, little else is known about The Nun at this point except that the film has already entered production. We will update you when we know more.
