Less than 48 hours ago we reported that Zac Efron is set to play Ted Bundy in the upcoming film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile from Oscar-nominated director Joe Berlinger. Now, news has come about another serial killer film, My Friend Dahmer.
THR is reporting that FilmRise has acquired the North American film rights to My Friend Dahmer, set to be released this fall, from writer-director Marc Meyers.
Ex-Disney star Ross Lynch will play a high school aged Jeffrey Dahmer. Set in the late 1970’s, the film documents Dahmer’s decent from awkward teen to serial killer.
Vincent Kartheiser, Anne Heche, Dallas Roberts, Alex Wolff, Miles Robbins, and Cameron McKendry co-star.
Jody Girgenti, Michael Merlob, Adam Goldworm, Milan Chakraborty and Meyers produced the film. Michael Novogratz and Giorgio Angelini are executive producing.
