Lionsgate’s upcoming film Saw: Legacy, the eighth film of the Saw franchise, has a new title, Jigsaw, Variety is reporting.
The franchise centers on John Kramer (Tobin Bell), known as “Jigsaw”, who puts his victims in elaborate traps to test their will to survive.
Laura Vandervoort, Hannah Anderson, Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Brittany Allen, Sonia Dhillon Tully, and Bonnie Siu star. Peter and Michael Spierig share directing duties for the film, penned by Pete Goldfinger, Josh Stolberg, James Wan and Leigh Whannel. Mark Burg, Gregg Hoffman, and Oren Koules have produced all seven films of the franchise and will produce Jigsaw as well.
Filming wrapped in November and is currently in post-production. Jigsaw will open in theaters nationwide on October 27, 2017, followed by the international release in early 2018.
