Samuel L. Jackson Joins Chris Rock’s New ‘Saw Movie

Last month we reported that a new Saw installment was on its way from funnyman Chris Rock. After the news broke, a rumor surfaced that Samuel L. Jackson (Snakes on A Plane, Deep Blue Sea, every Marvel movie) will star alongside Rock. Today, Bloody-Disgusting confirmed that the rumors are indeed true. Now we can’t help but wonder if there will be m*therf*ckin’ snakes in a m*therf*ckin’ trap. Darren Lynn Bousman will return to direct. Bousman took the reins from franchise creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell who have and will continue to produce the films. Jigsaw screenwriters Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg penned the script based on an idea by Rock. There is no word yet if Tobin Bell will return as Jigsaw.

It was announced at PAX East that Bruce Campbell will be bringing his popular character Ash Williams from the “Evil Dead” film and TV series to the popular cat-and-mouse horror game Dead by Daylight. Campbell teased that Ash was going to make it to video games in a past interview. Dead by Daylight is an online multiplayer where a group of four players takes on the roles as the “Survivors” while one player takes on the role of a “Killer” that is sometimes a creature. The survivors must escape a realm (level) that is used specifically by one type of killer. Since its release in 2016 the original three killers has grown to 15 and includes Freddy Kruger (“Nightmare on Elm Street”), Michael Myers (“Halloween”), Amanda Young (“Saw”), and Leather Face (“Texas Chainsaw Massacre”), each killer has their own perk and powers. “Jigsaw” Hits $100 Million At The Box Office

While far from universally loved, “Jigsaw”, the much belated 8th installment in the “Saw” franchise, has been a rousing success, financially at least. It’s been a universally strong year for horror at the Box Office (even while other films struggled) and despite opening far less than it’s predecessors, “Jigsaw” has cleared a cool $100 Million. The days of the annual horror installment seem to be behind us, with nary a peep from the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, and this being the first “Saw” film in over seven years. But with “The Conjuring” universe creeping up on us, and maybe “The Dark Universe” if it doesn’t get cancelled (spoilers: things don’t look good) maybe soon horror fans will have a series to look forward to every Halloween. I love innovation as much as anyone, and any new ways films can be shit-your-pants-scary are A-ok in my book. Still, a little redundancy and familiarity never killed anyone. Well, except for all the poor

New ‘Jigsaw’ Posters Paint The Killer as a God Like Figure

It’s been seven years since the last Saw film, and over a decade since the last good one. So yeah, it’s not too surprising that excitement for the newest film in the series, Jigsaw, is reaching a fever pitch. And while we still have to wait a month to see that actual film, Lionsgate has given the gift of some badass new posters. (The Rest) He is everywhere. He is everything. He is everyone. Damn, that’s some scary ass shit. 2010 was a long time ago, where smart phones were in their infancy, and services like “The Cloud” hadn’t yet reached their full potential. Imagine a Jigsaw capable of killing you through your phone, or hacking any of your myriad of gadgets too explode off your face. It’s an interesting idea, and I think the God like role Jigsaw is taking in these posters is at least teasing that; we’ve already seen in the trailer that Jigsaw has started trapping

The ‘Jigsaw’ Trailer Is Here And It Is Everything We Had Hoped For

The trailer for the eighth film in the Saw franchise, Jigsaw, is finally here and it is insane. Jigsaw looks to me the most intense film of the franchise since the original film was release in 2004. In the film, bodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man, John Kramer (Tobin Bell), the man known as Jigsaw. The problem is, Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade.
