Today, Netflix has unveiled the full trailer for Adam Wingard‘s highly-anticipated adaptation of the beloved Japanese manga, ‘Death Note‘. Premiering on the Netflix streaming service on August 25, 2017, the ghoulish cat-and-mouse tale will star Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Keith Stanfield, Shea Whigham, Paul Nakauchi, and Willem Dafoe as the wise-cracking death god, “Ryuk”.
‘Death Note’ follows Light Turner, a bright student who stumbles across a mystical notebook that has the power to kill any person whose name he writes in it. Light decides to launch a secret crusade to rid the streets of criminals. Soon, the student-turned-vigilante finds himself pursued by a famous detective known only as “L”.
‘Death Note’ is produced by Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Masi Oka and Jason Hoffs. Johnathan Eirich, Mirir Yoon Branden Ferguson, and John Powers Middleton are serving as executive producers.
