It has been two years since the prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, titled Leatherface, was announced. After all that time waiting and wondering what to expect we now finally get a glimpse at the film. Today, the trailer has arrived and we witness the brutal killer put on the iconic mask for the first time.
The film centers on teenage Leatherface as he escapes from a mental hospital along with three other patients. After kidnapping a nurse, he takes her on a road trip from Hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge. One of these teens are destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.
Directed by Alezandre Bustillo, the film stars Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Nicole Andrews, Sam Strike, Julian Kostov, and Sam Coleman.
Leatherface will arrive in theaters just in time for Halloween, on October 20, 2017. DirecTV subscribes will be able to see the film ahead of it’s theatrical release on September 21st.
