The official title and release date Insidious: The Last Key was announced only yesterday. Today, the trailer has been unleashed.
In the frightening trailer, we witness Elise (Lin Shaye) return home to face a dark evil that terrorized her as a young woman. She must face an onslaught of spirits waiting for her in the “Further” to find the last key to unlocking a mystery that has haunted her for a lifetime.
The trailer leaves us to believe that Insidious: The Last Key may be the most terrifying film of the franchise, but take a look for yourself (below).

The film, directed by Adam Robitel and written by Leigh Whannell who penned the scripts for the entire franchise, is set years before the events of the previous films and present day. It follows Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) as a young woman haunted by malevolent and demonic spirits in her New Mexico home.
Leigh Whannell will be reprising his role as “Specs”. Josh Stewart, Javier Botet, Angus Sampson, Kirk Acevedo, Bruce Davison, Spencer Locke, and Caitlin Gerard co-star with Hana Hayes playing the role of young Elise. James Wan served as producer.
Insidious: The Last Key opens in theaters nationwide on January 5, 2018.
