From the writing duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsh, who also wrote Starry Eyes, comes a new version of Stephen King’s classic Pet Sematary and the release date has just been announced.
The story, first published in 1983, centers on Louis Creed and his wife Rachel who have just moved with their two children into a home near a busy road. Soon they learn of a Pet Sematary near their property, where legend has it that animals buried there come back to life. When his daughter’s cat Church is run over Louis burys him in the stony soil of that sacred place. When Church returns he’s not the loving cat he once was. When Louis’ son Gage is killed Louis ignores all warnings and burys him in the same soil, but when he returns things go incredibly wrong.
The cast of the film is yet to be announced. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Steven Schneider, and Mark Vahradian are producing.
Paramount has announced that we will return to Pet Sematary on April 19, 2019.
