New ‘Pet Sematary’ Prequel Re-Writes Character To Suit Double Amputee Actor

The upcoming, still untitled, Pet Sematary prequel is still adding cast members to its roster. Variety is reporting that “actor, disability advocate and double hand amputee” John W. Lawson (“American Horror Story”) has now joined the cast and will star as “Stanny”. This marks the first time a double amputee has been cast in a leading role. The character was originally not an amputee and was rewritten just for the actor. I have myoelectric hands… or what people commonly call ‘cyborg,’” Lawson told the site. “But most of the time, it’s just my hooks.” . After Lawson auditioned and got a call back he learned that new scenes had been written just for him. “And when I got the new sides,” He said to Variety, “they had completely written the role for the character to be an amputee. Which was freakin’ awesome. Because it was not [an amputee role before] in any way. That, to me, was a real turning

Paramount+ Is Taking Us Back To The ‘Pet Sematary’ With A New Prequel

The world of Pet Sematary is expanding with a new prequel in the works at Paramount+, which will be Lindsey Beer’s feature directorial debut. Jeff Buhler, who penned the script for the 2019 adaptation, based on the Stephen King story, wrote the prequel which was last revised by Beer, THR is reporting. Natalie Alyn Lind (“Big Sky,” “Tell Me a Story”), Jack Mulhern (“Mare of Easttown”), Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), and Isabella Star LaBlanc have joined the cast with Jackson White (“Mrs. Fletcher”) playing a young Jud Crandall. While there have been no plot details revealed at this point, there are a couple of ways it could go. We can’t help but wonder if the prequel will involve the cautionary story that Jud recounts to Louis about Timmy, the young man who was the last person buried in the Pet Sematary. During the story, Jud says those famous lines, “Sometimes dead is better.” But we could be completely wrong. We

‘Pet Sematary’ Getting A Prequel ?!

The theatrical premiere of Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer‘s highly-anticipated reimagining of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary is still a month away. While some witnessed its world premiere at SXSW the rest of us are eagerly awaiting our shot to see the film that is already getting rave reviews. Today, we got word that there may already be another installment in the works, this time it’s a prequel, at least that’s what producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is saying. I generally don’t start thinking about [sequels] until they’re a success. I think if there’s anything here, there’s a prequel. I think if you look at the book, we didn’t cover all that stuff that happens before the Creed family moves in. So, I think there’s a movie there, and I think I’d be particularly interested in doing that, because again, it’s the source material and you are going toward something that also has a lot of crazy, creepy feelings about it.” Bonaventura
