Warner Bros. announced today that Corin Hardy’s The Conjuring 2 spin-off, The Nun, will be haunting theaters a little later than originally announced. First scheduled to be released this July, the date has now been changed to September 7, 2018.

The Nun centers on a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania. After taking her own life, the Vatican opens an investigation. Together the investigator and a priest with a haunted past uncover the order’s unholy secret and confront a malevolent entity, the same one Ed and Lorraine Warren faced in The Conjuring 2.

Taissa Farmiga, Demian Bichir, Bonnie Aarons, Charlotte Hope, Jonas Bloquet, and Ingrid Bisu star. Hardy will be directing from the screenplay written by James Wan and Gary Dauberman. Wan and Peter Safran are producing with Dauberman and Todd Williams are serving as executive producers.
A second spin-off for The Conjuring 2, centered on the Crooked Man character, played by Javier Botet, is currently in development from James Wan’s company Atomic Monster. That’s not all, there is also a third Conjuring film on its way.
