The Purge franchise continues this 4th of July with The First Purge, from director Gerard McMurray and screenwriter James DeMonaco, the franchise’s creator. Today, we get a look at how the annual night of chaos and murder began in the film’s first trailer.
“To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.”
Luna Lauren Velez, Melonie Diaz, Mo McRae, Chyna Layne, Y’lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Patch Darragh, Aaron Williamson, Joivan Wade, Jessica Bell, Jermel Howard, Scott Matheny, and Martin Mlodozeniec star.
This Independence Day (July 4, 2018) we will witness The First Purge in theaters, from Universal Pictures.
