Following the success of their film The Black Gloves, director Lawrie Brewster and writer Sarah Daly are back with a new Gothic tale, Automata.
The film centers on an antique dealer sent to authenticate the “Infernal Princess”, a three-hundred-year-old clockwork doll with a notorious history. He soon comes under its corrupting influence along with his stepdaughter Rose.
Jamie Scott Gordon (The Black Gloves, Bonejangles), Alexandra Nicole Hulme (The Black Gloves, Lord of Tears), Erich Redman (The Danish Girl), Jonathan Hansler (The Devil’s Business), and Victoria Lucie (Dartmoor Killing).
Director Lawrie Brewster said, “Automata is a wild, Gothic thrill-ride inspired by the decadence of Ken Russell’s Gothic, as well as the sensual expressionism of Argento’s Suspiria and Bava’s Black Sabbath.”
The film is produced by Hex Studios and their partners Dark Dunes Productions along with Needle’s Eye Productions. Nick Ford, Greg Orsi, and Richard Pate executive produce.
Automata has begun its Kickstarter campaign and offer pre-orders of the film as well as plush toys, credits and more.
