Cult of Chucky actress Fiona Dourif has been cast in a lead recurring role in USA Network and SYFY’s “The Purge” series.
Dourif will play the role of the “cool and offbeat, Good Leader Tavis, the much-adored, charismatic cult leader, dispensing blessings to her fawning followers.”
From Blumhouse Television (HBO’s upcoming “Sharp Subjects”, Hulu’s “Into the Dark”, Showtime’s “Loudest Voice in the Room”) and Universal Cable Productions (Amazon’s “Homecoming”, USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” and “The Sinner”), “The Purge” will be executive produced by the film franchise creator James DeMonaco and led by Jason Blum.
The entire team behind The Purge blockbuster franchise are on board to executive produce including Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form under the Platinum Dunes banner, and Sebastien K. Lemercier. Thomas Kelly serves as executive producer and showrunner of the series.
Emmy® and Golden Globe® award-winner Anthony Hemingway (“American Crime Stories: The People V. O.J. Simpson) will direct and serve as executive producer on the premiere episode.
Dourif currently stars in NBC’s drama “The Blacklist.” She also had a recurring role on Showtime’s “Shameless” earlier this year. Dourif was a series regular role in the BBC America/AMC rendition of the cult-classic “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” and had a leading role in Gus Van Sant’s ABC miniseries “When We Rise.” She also recurred on the WGN drama “Manhattan” among many other series. Dourif starred in both Curse of Chucky and the sequel Cult of Chucky. Dourif is represented by Innovative Artists.
Gabriel Chavarria (“East Los High”), Lili Simmons (“Ray Donovan”), Jessica Garza (“Six”), Amanda Warren (“The Leftovers”), Colin Woodell (Unsane), Hannah Anderson (“New Mutants”) and Lee Tergesen (“Oz”) lead the cast as series regulars of upcoming “The Purge” series. Dourif (Curse of Chucky) and William Baldwin (Backdraft) will both have recurring roles.
The Purge will air on both the USA Network and SYFY.
